Demons and the WTS
by brotherdan ini remember growing up and hearing all sorts of stories about demonic activity from people.
some would be experiences that people had going door to door and visiting a "witch" or "warlock".
some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.

Psalms 83:18
by Joey Jo-Jo ingot a question i got stuck on, the original hebrew wording has yhwh, so it says:-.
that people may know that you, whose name is jehovah,.
you alone are the most high over all the earth.

Got a question I got stuck on, the original Hebrew wording has YHWH, so it says:-
That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth. That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.(KJV)
That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, art the Most High over all the earth.(Darby)
May they know that You alone—
whose name is Yahweh—
are the Most High over all the earth (HCSB)http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/OTpdf/psa83.pdf
I know that they preach that the name Jehovah is like a revelation but would this mean that jw's stand in using the word has some weight to it?

What prayers does God answer?
by jwfacts ini have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.
most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .
if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.

I always thought that prayers is to have an intimate relationship with Jesus and God and not to have an unfair advantage over everyone else.

Can You Now Clearly See That You Were In A Cult?
by minimus inthe longer away from "the truth", the easier it is to see that i was in a "cult"..

It's a cult, I see it as a dying cult as they still hold 1914 and they have no control over the internet. But when your in as factfinder said I also couldn't see it as a cult, like your blinded.

I was never DF'ed, I wasn't abused, I never lost a loved one to the ban on blood
by OnTheWayOut instrange title, huh?.
the point is that i wasn't "burned" in some incredible way by wts and i don't carry a huge chip on my shoulder from some incredible injustice from wts or the local elders.. i say this because some people have constantly accused me of being really screwed over by my experience because of my comments on others' threads.
i explained myself there for my reasons, but wanted to repeat what those reasons are here in my own thread.. i explained on some post somewhere that i had felt that i experienced "divine intervention" in my life at one time and that same intervention ended my suicide attempt.

OnTheWayOut: I'll elaborate, its not as simple as it sounds, though I am studying I still attend and had attended meetings for many years and most of my family are in the org, I still live under my parents roof. I would be better off showing no spiritual inclinations than showing an interest in bible studies but not the org. It will be interesting to see what happens, what the spiritual policemen will say.

I'll try to keep this on topic, the bible makes a very good point about not being "spiritual babes", not being spiritual babes for a reason so we know right from wrong, putting human error aside most jw's (and other religions) are not aware that their doctrine differs from the bible.
I can't put this in a nice way, the WT do not follow prov 20:23, they can preach but can not be preached! Isn't that detestable to God?? since this is the case how can they possibly know if their spiritual food is instead biased from followers of men?
My mum is paranoid about me on the net, guess who told her to be paranoid? Sometime back there was a talk about the web being like the web of a spider catching people and the person doing the talk also mentioned apostates in the cong. Previously I did all my searching through books not the internet, and the only reason why there are apostates in the cong is because its so hard to just walk out, I am not even an un-bathtised publisher and am finding it hard because I started a book study and don’t know what to say or even know what the repercussions will be.
